Services

Three things I do, all learned and practiced over twenty years in the workshop.

Restoration

The core of the work. I take chairs, dressers and dining tables that have loosened, cracked or worn through, and rebuild them properly rather than papering over the damage.

French Polish

A traditional hand-applied shellac finish, built up in thin layers over many passes. It's slow work, but it gives wood a depth and warmth that spray finishes can't match — and it's the right choice for the kind of older pieces that come through the workshop door.

Valuations

For people who've inherited a piece of furniture and aren't sure what they've got. I look the piece over and give you a clear, honest sense of what it is, its condition, and what — if anything — it might be worth, before you decide whether to restore it, sell it or simply keep it as it is.

Have a piece in mind?

Bring it by the workshop, or get in touch and tell me a bit about it.
